2-3 weeks ago the beautiful men and women at Republic sent me personally a set of United states Apparel Disco Pants. Us Apparel is a fresh addition into Republic web site and celebrate, they asked three bloggers to be a part of a Disco Pant design Challenge! I’ll have significantly more on that in another post, but for now I was thinking I’d write a bit about using these Grease-esque writer faves.
When they first started appearing on design blogs, we provided a derisive snort at the thought of ever before getting my butt into a set of Disco Pants. I mean, look at them! Skintight, high-waisted, very shiny… they look like tools of torture for size 12+ numbers. But in fact…

Sadly some of my ensemble shots corrupted when uploading nevertheless have the idea. I put on these children all.the.time. We cannot get enough. Firstly, they are insanely comfortable. They’re great and elastic without digging in, making them ideal for lounging about the home (which, let’s face it, takes place loads). Secondly, they are interestingly flattering. You’d think, given they’re created from high-shine plastic with a waistband that sits above the bellybutton and a spray-on fit, that they’d emphasize all lumps and lumps and produce an unforgivable camel toe circumstance – but no! The thick, hefty product acts like a couple of Spanx for your reduced one half, smoothing on wobbly bits and creating a streamlined appearance that’s quite slimming.
I came across the Disco Pants to-be only a little regarding the small part, therefore I size up and moved for a sizable. My just slight niggle is they gape slightly all over waistline but that can be forgiven, especially after a large meal.
I’ve worn all of them with sets from cropped jumpers to long tops to tucked in tees, but this is certainly one of my favourite appearances. The oversized denim top is also by American Apparel – it is a size little from their particular men’s range which makes it that tiny bit much longer. Underneath is a pale blue scallop hem vest from Topshop, that will be somewhat cropped and tucked in at the front end. Then I simply wear flats many jewellery and I’m done. I’ll be wearing anything quite similar for my 8.5 hour flight to Chicago TOMORROW!
